EXT MIDI Clock constant display drift

Hello!

New owner!

OS 1.1.0

So I just started using the PolyPulse tonight and after I got some sounds and rhythms going I slaved it to the Cirklon.

Only running Track 1 and the other four tracks are not active and don’t have sounds assigned to them.
(still learning how to use it) :stuck_out_tongue:

It sounds like it is in sync but the display on the PolyPulse keeps running up and down in value like crazy.

I have the Cirklon at 110 BPM and the PolyPulse displays a constant scrolling number running up a few points and then down several points really quickly.

From 110 up to 110.9 the down to 109.1.

At least that’s kinda what it looks like.

It does this when at any tempo I set.

I saw in the Setting of the PolyPulse that the PPQN is at 4.
(not sure if that was the default)
I messed with that a bit but the clock display still acts the same.

Thanks for any help!

Hey welcome,

MIDI sync works by sending 24 clock tick messages per beat. Sometimes these clock ticks arrive a bit late (“jitter”) which causes the receiving device to think the BPM is a bit lower than it actually is. It is expected that the BPM number moves a bit around on the PolyPulse when synced to MIDI.

The sync in PPQN parameter in settings does not affect MIDI as MIDI is fixed at 24 clock ticks per beat.
