0.3.1: MIDI cue trigger

Hey all,

Cool new stuff: modulators can now be triggered from other tracks and specific pulses. As an example: a pulse on track 3 can trigger an envelope that modifies the filter on track 2. There is also some practical stuff: you can now MIDI learn triggering a cue, and there is a global pickup mode setting for the volume controls and send controls.

Highlights:

  • The modulator trigger system has been overhauled.
    • Modulators can now be triggered from one or more of the following trigger sources:
      • The start of the current note (used to be trig: note).
      • Touchpad (outputs a trigger at the start of touching the touchpad).
      • Sequencer reset of one of the 5 tracks.
      • Selectable pulse of one of the 5 tracks.
    • Press the top-left black numpad button (trig) to select which of the trigger sources listed above triggers the modulator.
    • To switch LFO between sync or the new trigger system, hold [shift] and press the top-left black numpad button.
  • Cues can now be started using MIDI: each cue can be mapped to a different note on, control change or program change.

Other changes and bugfixes:

  • Reduced artifacts when applying fast modulation to volume parameters in sound engines.
  • These parameters can now be modulated:
    • Equalizer: low gain, mid freq, mid gain, high freq.
    • Fade delay: freq, feedback, shift, dry/wet.
  • Added send pickup and volume pickup option in [setting]. If enabled the volume/send knob position is read from *.inst files and used until the physical knob is moved to the same position, then the knob controls the volume again.
  • Fixed a bug where removing a modulator would not remove any modulators that were assigned to that modulator.
  • Fixed MIDI mappings to audio effect and modulator parameters not working.
  • Fixed the LEDs not showing the approximate parameter value of envelope/modulator parameters.

Here is the new firmware: polypulse-firmware-0.3.1.zip (986.8 KB)

See here how to update your PolyPulse. Note that the file manager only recognizes *.zip files whose name starts with polypulse-firmware- as firmware updates.

Enjoy! :yellow_heart:
