Audible hum/noise on outputs

(Originally posted in main forum, moved to Bugs subcategory.)

Just like the thread title says, there is a very audible hum coming from my poly pulse.

It’s coming from both the headphone output and the main outputs.
Any suggestions on what I can try to get rid of this hum sound?
YIKES!

When the USB power cable is connected to a computer (directly or through a USB hub) this can cause hum. It is better to always connect it with the power supply directly to a power strip/socket.

Also a good idea is to always use TRS/stereo jack cables, even when the PolyPulses balanced line outputs are connected to unbalanced line inputs.

Let me know if this fixes it, otherwise can you send me a short audio recording of the hum?

Not sure why I didn’t just try balanced TRS cables in the first place - whoops!

Using balanced TRS cables took care of the hum issue from the main outputs! YAY!

I’m still getting the hum from the headphone jack if I turn the volume on it up past 12 o-clock, but I can work around that.

THANKS for the help!

I have also noticed this. In my experience I don’t usually turn up volume levels this high and it is then only audible when no sound is playing.

That said, I’m looking into improving/lowering the hum for future batches. For now I’m going to tag this thread as solved and make a note in the manual to always use TRS cables.

Thanks, Ward! :+1: :+1:
