Does Midi provide phantom power?

Hi Ward,

I need to buy a midi merger, because I cant have the start/stop message from my polypulse and PC or CC message from my morningstar MC6 together.
I have tried several ways to plug my midi devices ; but I just need a merger.

There is a simple midi merger on the marker (midi solution merge), but I need to make sure that my devices runs phantom power.

Please let me know and if you have a solution or product to advice for midi merge.

Thank you

So I searched the internet for powering devices using MIDI and MIDI phantom power. It seems what MIDI solutions is doing is a different thing than what some people call ‘MIDI phantom power’.

The PolyPulse MIDI output circuit is complaint with the MIDI standard and uses 5V signals. I think therefore it is certainly possible it that the PolyPulse can power the MIDI solutions merge but I don’t know for sure. Alternatively you could check something like the Kenton MIDI merge-4 which uses a separate power supply.

Hi Ward
Thank you for your quick reply
in doubt I’ll go for the Kenton module.
