Hi Ward, happy new year!
I wonder if you could give us some hints on what you are working on for the Polypulse and when we can expect another software update.
And I would like to know if it is possible to buy the dust cover for the Polypulse?
Best regards, Paul
Hello Paul,
Happy new year to you too!
Next update will introduce a new audio effect.
The dust cover is easy to include with new PolyPulses, but as it can’t be folded or rolled up the cost of shipping it separately makes it more expensive than I would like. Therefore, the dust cover is not for sale right now.
Hello, cool for the audio effect. Ok I understand, if the shipping costs are too high it makes no sense.
Do you plan on adding things about the sequencer part of the Polypulse. I find it a little bit difficult to add notelengths in the notelist. Maybe it would be possible to add lists with notelengtha and pauses ass an addition to the notelists, those could be assigned to a sequence, they could have different lengths, random, offset, … I think this could be fun and create even more Polyrythms or maybe it is just a crazy idea ![]()
So you can add pauses to the note list, by setting the note type to a rest
. Then it will skip playing a note (but current notes continue playing according to their envelope times).
You can also look at notes off
, it ends all notes currently playing on that track which can be a great way to add silences to note lists.
There is no way to set the note length in a note list: the note length is determined by the amplitude envelopes. You can however modulate those with assignable modulators to vary the note length. Currently the modulation range of time/ms parameters is limited to +/- 1 second. I do intend to increase that range, but it is on the todo-list to improve.
Yes that’s ok, I understand that. The idea was that the sequencer uses a separate list with the actions the sequencer should do at each step instead of just doing the next thing in the notelist: e.g. play the next note from the notelist, make a pause, silence the notes, repeat the last note, hold the last note (this of course only has an effect if the env time is long enough), play a random note from the list … If this info is in a separate list, I think even more crazy things should be possible, as you could easily exchange the notelist and/or this “eventlist”. But as I said this also may be just a crazy idea itself or just simple not possible to implemement. Anyway I look forward to whatever is still going to come to the Polypulse.
