Samples layering/Parallel Samples (in Sample List)

Hi Ward,
Do you think possible to implement a way to activate/deactivate the “shift” selection (which selects all voices) for all 4 voices in a the Quad Engine ?
Maybe in the Track parameters menu (or somewhere else) with a mode able to select all 4 voices at the same time, if activated, and give the possibility to trigger them all from external MIDI and return to default mode (per voice selection) when deactivated.

Just tried with the shift button activated but it doesn’t work.
So don’t take my previous comment in account.

On the other hand, a way to layer samples in the sample list (parallel samples for one trigger note like chord in note list) could help with that, but I don’t know if it’s feasible

If you use quad engine you can use the 2xsample mini engine which plays from two sample lists simultaneously.

If the sample lists are the same length both lists will play in parallel, but sample lists of different lengths can also be fun because then you get different combinations of two samples each time

But I’am not sure to understand it correctly.
Are you meaning that I can trigger two (or more) sample lists that share the same length with one trigger note (note list) ?

If yes can you please, give us a hint about how to do it ?

Yes the same or a different number of samples in the list.

So 2xsample is like sample but then simply two sample players. If you trigger a note on a 2xsample it will play 2 samples: one from samples and one from samples 2.

If we have a sample list with 3 samples and another with 4 samples you will hear the sample lists ‘phase’ against each other: each note a different combination of a sample from both lists:

A b c A b c A b c A b c A ...
1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 ...

Now if both lists have the same amount of samples they will combine in the same way each time:

A b c A b c A b c A b c A ...
1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 ...

OK, 2xsample is perfect for what I’d like to do.
But one thing (regarding that case) would be the ability to pan samples directly in the sample list (like adding a pan next to dBFS or elsewhere like in the sample editor menu).
Do you think it’s possible to implement that ?
