Samples management

Hi,
I think it would be nice to have if possible some sample management QOL features:

  • I’ve already asked but having the possibility to name recordings would be a big help
  • erasing a recording, if possible, or at least not keeping (maybe erasing in only something that can be done from the manager ? If yes, would make the naming feature even more important !)
  • the usual suspects chop start / end, normalize, if possible as well. This would be all the more useful since the way recording is implemented, one very often ends up with silence at the start of the recording, and unwanted material at the end.
  • maybe something like a threshold for recording start ?

the following are rather little bugs:

  • a mere detail, but there in no “end” parameter only “loop end” (that acts like an “end”). Works the same but does not match with the terminology in the manual
  • curiously, when you’ve just added samples to a sample list, you cannot scroll to them straigth away, you have to jump out and back in – in effect it’s just hitting “yes” twice, so it’s not that bad.

thanks !

Renaming of recordings will be added next update, with the option to quickly press [yes] if you are fine with the randomly generated name

To prevent silence before/after samples when recording from tracks or the main output, I’m adding a setting to start recording on first trigger (when recording tracks or outputs) and stop after no signal and/or clock.

For recording of external sources you will still be required to adjust the start/end times in the sample list editor.

Yes, it used to be just start/end (which would also be the loop area), but now you can set the start time (or end time if reversed) separately from the loop start/end. Looks like I still have to update the manual, thanks for letting me know!

And that bug is also fixed!

That’s great, the workflow with samples will be much smoother I think !
