Was meant to say something about a sequencer

New audio effect, what precisely ?? Was initially a reply to your start of 2026 post… sorry Im also not firm how to handle posting in forums I’m also struggling with that

I highly recomment to add a super simple, easy to use alternative sequencer : just a grid of 16 steps looping, dedicated to one sound device incl a sampleplayer e.g.for the Drums Nothing fancy w.o. Havin to use to much planning to play around
Well I admit the provided / äh your way of sequencing in this machine never has grown on me, I Kind of down get the concept first throwing some samples into a list, havin to remember what is in it and then tryin to seq. the notelist, havin big problems with this handling. Mostly the dustcover stays on the device, cause in a way its not what I know to use.
A midi/note/gate sequence plays the Synthesizer ( sorry about this post ) maybe you can think about an alternative 4/4 sequencer

Hey Lothar,

I intend to finish the update in the next two weeks so you can try it out. The update will also include a way to see the PolyPulse display on a computer or tablet so it can be seen on a larger display. I believe we spoke about this last Superbooth?

I’m sorry to hear that the current workflow of sequencing and working with samples doesn’t work for you.

I have some ideas about simplifying loading samples and the sample list system, but that won’t be something included in next update.

Adding a new (step) sequencing system as alternative to the current sequencer is unlikely to happen. There are already so many excellent step-sequencers in the world that I myself would rather focus on working on something different.

No need to apologize, please keep posting questions if you have more!

So yhea although my thoughts at first mirrored the idea of having sone sort of motif or xox sequencer onboard butt in hindsight I completely agree with the designer to commit to only a pulse division sequencer as you are always free to sequence the unit via external sequencers.
Its eccentric yet its only five track system

and the system functios more like modular ethos, for instance the sound sustain is decided via its envelopes rather than note on as an osc >adsr>vca would behave the OSC are always on

Now as a workaround (and Im only quoting Ward here from a previous forum post as I can’t find this in the manual ans don’t have a unit yet🫰) but you can re-sample as audio whatever you play in realtime and the unit has a slice grid where you can then assign it to pulses for playback (timing adjustments can be made here and as the unit can be aet to scales this all becomes a viable workaround even though your no Mozart on the keys…

Now some requests on sampling should be noted here as IIRC the unit only plays back mono samples!? so a stereo sampling engine would be ideal in the future…

I can think of two stereo engines that be awesomely

##one just for triggering phrases like clips

##the other more like old Ensoniq samplers similar to how Polyera has implemented it wheas the samples can be reduced into almost just noisy 0’s&1’s via aliasing (thinking of pad morphing here)

A key aspect here would be the abilityl to set up bar length of recordings with que start /end options to get prefect loops for the slice grid

Might as well add; that a 4.track sample looper with overdubs would also be nice addition, specially for drum beats or synth /melody layering…

And just cause Im logged in (Dunno if this is already a function in the unit currently) but note generators (polyend tracker has an excellent way of doing this) aswell as step FX (trackers & OP-XY come to mind (rolls with pitch up/down ste to musical ratios 3rds 5ths for synth lines (basically a one shot arp line). I know some of this is doable via modulatiors so maybe more step FX is out of place but classic 303 octive jumps and musical ratios would be really sweet addition to the fx line in note list

generatiors for the current FX line (like randomly add slides and ties, octive jumps based on preset values) would be awesome in the note list (believe it can already randomize the order of current list IIRC so taking this to the next level shouldn’t be too unrealistic.

Here’s the link to interanl resampling, Id like to re-request a video demonstration on this as there’s literally no info on it…

Its exciting in a way to discover a functional slice grid hidden in the system and makes the purchase even exotic but at the same time when planing ahead it be nice to know how usable practical this in both live & studio settings

Also want to add a request expending on event generators in note list>> Eqlidian form for the pulses (its basically just rythmic ratios of rests in the note list… A simple and great way do diffraction the pulses from the normal pulsating clocks

Further more it be great to see that expanded into chords or melodies via poly and note harmonics (basically just chords from a note in list in harmonious ratios) if this could be modulated you could build up a melodic riffs (even evolving) from simple note list…

Torso T1 does this amazingly well and it would really fit the PP design IMO

Apologies for the thread hijacking
