0.3.3: Numpad mapping

Hey all, another update is ready!

Highlights:

  • Added numpad controls as alternative to using the X and Y encoders to the following menu’s: (see Front panel - PolyPulse manual)
    • Note list editor
    • Cue editor (timeline view)
    • Sample list editor
    • File browser
    • Settings menu’s
    • List selection menu’s
    • Audio effect set position for new FX
  • Added ducker audio effect: applies volume envelope to signal that can be triggered from any pulse on any track. The envelope can also be inverted so it can be used for both ‘side-chain compression’ and ‘trance gate’ effects.
  • Added 16seq modulator: a step sequencer with up to 16 steps.
  • Added the option to toggle between static and random delay time for each pulse by pressing the encoder.
  • Added automatic backup system: every x minutes a backup is created in a folder inside the current project (when the clock is not running).
  • Added/re-implemented reset by: resets a track if another track has reset.

Other changes and bugfixes:

  • Added overwrite project: xxx.proj option to [edit]+[settings] which can be used to see what the current project is and to quickly save it.
  • Improved subtractive turbo mode saw/pulse curve.
  • subtractive sync parameter is not expressed as ratio instead of percentage.
  • Increased maximum modulation depth of ratio parameters.
  • Improved delay visual to better show echo and feedback values.
  • The BPM encoder LED now blinks on the beat when the clock is running.
  • subtractive filter can now be set to bypass (which saves CPU usage).
  • resonator can now disable one of the two resonators (which saves CPU usage).
  • Audio effect channels now blink at the start of a note.
  • Fixed quad engine voice usage lines in the audio effects view highlighting incorrect lines.
  • Fixed patch output channel usage lines not highlighting the correct lines.
  • Fixed the cue editor start value not updating when switching between cues in the editor.
  • Fixed sample analysis not starting after loading granular *.inst files which caused a crash when notes were triggered.
  • Fixed quad engine voices being faded out earlier than needed when polyphony is higher than 1.

Here is the new firmware: polypulse-firmware-0.3.3.zip (1007.8 KB)

See here how to update your PolyPulse. Note that the file manager only recognizes *.zip files whose name starts with polypulse-firmware- as firmware updates.

Enjoy! :yellow_heart:

After loading the new firmware, I’m unable to change Note List or Morph. Note List is stuck on #5 and Morph is stuck on #0, and I’m unable to select away from these. Pattern allows me to select normally. I tried saving the project with overwrite under the new firmware, but that didn’t fix the problem. How do I get access to my Note Lists?

Oh my bad! I’ve replaced the download link with a new build that fixes that!

Yes, it’s fixed.

I must say that I’m already finding this numpad navigation much faster to use than the X Y knob method.

That is great!

Perhaps if you have some more insights later on when you’ve used it for some time, you can post them in the other thread about one-handedness?

Wow !!!
Very excited with that Polypulse update !!!

Thank you Ward !
