I’m just going to start testing the new firmware today. I would just like to know if the midi implementation of the Cue is something that could be considered in the near future or not. Because I’m going to work on my work flow based on this implementation.
Ideally I’d like to be able to link a PC or CC message to each Cue so that I can trigger the next sequence by foot.
Thanks for your answer
I’d understand if that wasn’t a priority.
Thanks for your reply
Regarding external MIDI control, cue list and program change messages in reference to sequencers and DAWs both as master and slave
Can the Patterns, Note lists, and Motion animation be triggered independently via program change? So I could fully automate each element with the same internal flexibility as the PP
Likewise how does the PP send out program messages say to devices that run their own pattern sequencers? Can it do it as one-shots ‘‘upon triggering a new pattern’’ ?
Or will it continuously send out a pgm message every time in it loops?
The reason is that often when changing things live on controlled drum machines groovboxes they most often and ‘‘naturally so’’ revert to original ‘‘recalled’’ pattern state after receiving pgm change message.
And on a final note can you use the keyboard to recall and trigger pattern and notes list live?
On the PolyPulse itself you can change note lists, patterns, cues and motion recordings live with the built-in keyboard.
If you want to use MIDI to trigger that you need to put the actions you want to trigger in a cue, and then MIDI learn the cue to whatever MIDI note, CC or program change you want to use to trigger the actions.
Currently the PolyPulse does not send program change messages yet.
I intend to add a ‘send midi message’ command to the cue editor. Then you could send program changes or other triggers whenever you want
